what can you do to the breather on cvh rocker i no the one on right goes to botttom but the breather on the left can you put a mini style k&n filter on instead of going to metering head

 

Bin the standard breather system and get an uprated one (bailey or similar)....you can breathe both sides of the rocker and the block then and free up some crankcase pressure

 

Agree with the above. You can't vent the KE-Jetronic breather to atmosphere as the metering head see's it as an air leak and will kill the car. You can do it by blocking off the breather but after looking at it I can't help but think it's not a good idea

 

doesnt make sense mate,you say you cant vent ke jetronic breather to atmo which is untrue,then you say you can by blockin the breather,again not true

you can vent it by blockin the inlet for breather on the meterin be it std breather or bailey one and wont kill the car

 

I tried venting to atmosphere when i was on mfi by blockin off the hose to the metering head and my car didn't seem to like it, i know alot of people have said they do it tho so don't know why mine played up....was fine when i vented it back through the metering unit tho so never saw any reason to change it!

 

what was it doin that it didnt like?
would that not get you thinking that maybe theres a prob elsewhere on the system or car,maybe a rr set up would have shown this up when vented to atmo

 

Was on an old tired engine when i first got the car 4 years ago....had a standard breather on and use to blow the dipstick out...put a breather on it and it stopped doin it lol. God knows why but it smoked like hell on overrun when i vented to atmosphere....put it back into the metering unit and it didn't??!! Didn't bother to find out why as i didn't really see any massive advantage in venting to atmosphere.....the engine and turbo was tired tbh...that was 2 engines ago mind lol.

 

and that smoke would have been blowing back into your metering head entering boost hoses into engine and doing no good,prob leading to the tired old engine it was

 

What....the 130k on original turbo engine lol....don't think venting the breather to atmosphere would have made it last another 100k, didn't think it had done too bad lol!

 

so i can put a little filter on and block metering head off and it should run fine then ????

 

Im in the same position, ive got an oil breather but ive also bought an oil catch tank.

Do i plumb the catch tank to the oil separator and blank off the outlet on the metering unit.

 

blank off the breather return to the metering head and vent to the catch tank

davie if u need any help fitting it gimme a shout
