Hey, just came out of work today and noticed that there is a speed depandant tick...tick..tick noise coming from the front area (Wheels Probably)

Ive just put 4 new tyres on the car so the tyre fitting guys had the tyres off so I doubt there is anything stuck in there making this noise?

The tick tick noise goes faster as I pick up speed

Any ideas what can cause this noise?

1995 5 door N plate Escort 1.6 16v Zetec

Jack it up and spin the wheels then listen for where the tick comes from.

 

you sure its not a stone stuck in the thread?

 

when you had your tyres done has somone put a zip tie on wheel trim if your car has them or a zip tie on the cv joint gater?

 

I actually noticed it before the tyres got done now I think of it....

Thought I heard something ticking about 2 weeks ago and never heard it again till today.. ive had only the wheel trim off this morning and no ties...

Im gonna chuck it into the grage round the corner in the morning but I would just like to have information about what could be causing a speed dependant ticking noise from the wheels area before hand

 

Could be one of the cable tie's for one of the inner cv gator's catching on the abs belt cover
