Default Cleaning wideband sensor

Anyone found anything that works for cleaning them out when they get a bit oil soaked after running on an old shitter for a while?

Still seems to work ok, just would have liked to have cleaned it out as it was in a very smokey exhaust for quite a while.

They heat up to over 600C - the casing my be dirty, but the punp circuit certainly won't be. Wipe it with some degreaser, jobs done...

Ok mate, cheers.

It was in a heatsink bung too, which seems to help them survive.

wideband sensors are sensitive souls - they have a ceramic element inside which is prone to cracking. they HATE being disturbed. EG, the one in my s2 which has seen 000's of miles has never been changed, where as the one i place in my tailpipe adaptor for mapping - ive been through a good few. Remarkable bit of kit for the money though.

Think ive been through about 4 or so now.

My old Techedge one, which uses the mega money honda sensor, was both much faster and more robust though to be fair, the bosch ones are a bit of a poor relation IMHO but they are mentally good for how cheap they are.

to be fair, the bosch should be far faster than u or I could deal with - it's how it interfaces with the controller which counts - and the speed of the controller. The NTK sensors are massivly overengineered - but not really any more accurate - although i know people who would like to argue that. I;ve just thought - itm sure it's not healthy discussing the merits of pump currents at midnight on a saturday?

My whole saturday has been nothing but cars today, me and a mate of mine have been redoing a lot of the wiring and the fuel system on the calibra (I fucking HATE in tank pumps) and finally got it running right for the first time since ive owned it.
