Default Stereo amplifier, where is it?

I have a late spec saff, that as standard had the tape player and cd player in the dash, i have tried to fit a new cd player, got the correct leads etc, but i still wont work, i am guessing the is some kind of amp hidden behind the dash, where all the speaker cables go to etc, but cannot find it, any ideas?

I have a LHD 4x4 Sierra, so maybe the side is wrong for you.
However, there's an amplifier in the footwell at the right-hand side (passenger side) very near to the A-pillar.

Dont all the speaker wires and the lives and earths just go to the tape player. Then the wires for the standard cd player just go to the tape player too. I didnt even know these had a amp in the foot well. Im just taking a guess here mind.

its by the passenger side kick panel the 1 with the light in down by your foot you need to remove this then what you need to do is buy the an after market loom for a ford

all the speaker wires go into the amp then from the amp there is a ford cable upto your oem stereo

what you need to do is remove both stereos and remove the ford wiring between them you will then be left with the oem power connector

and the cable to the amp you then buy a harness to convert these to your stereo what you might find is thet you will need to extend the 8 speaker wire connector down to the footwell
