the mongoose only founls the front prop/chassis leg if not fitted correclt inthe first place,

had a mongoose on my saph 4x4 and my escos, very pleased with both.

i'm now in a dilema over one for the ST, as i was gonna go for mongoose again, BUT the magnex for owner members on focusstoc.com is a very good price.

The Magnex was discontinued about 4 Years ago, but we were able to get Magnex to make them made in batches of 10, which we did. It may be possible to get them to do this again.
Unfortunately the call for these has declined, as more and more people who have Escort Cossies have already got stainlesses that last forever.
The magnex is a twin (side by side) system that is a little quieter than the Mongoose, which on big BHP means you are more likely to pass sound test at a track day. The magnex one is very similar to the original, splitting in 2 after the down pipe. It fits alot closer to the bottom of the car as it uses 2 small pipes rather than one big one.

The Magnex also offers slightly improve flow than the Mongoose, as it is a twin 2ź" system, which has greater flow than a single 3" system.

As to it be quieter, it only has a twin silencer arrangement like the Mongoose, but because these are situated where the OE ones are, you can actually fit a back box as well (which is what I did to mine).

Mike on the subject of Magnex's, Harvey said when fitting the 6degree beam some magnex's hit and other don't. I know yours did, but how old was your magnex? I know mine I bought from you was one of the newer batches with the smaller tail pipe so wondered if that may have been different? ie whether it was just completely random that they hit or whether it was a when it was made was the difference?

I guess I'll find out soon enough

Mines been fine, had it on for 6 years, and I prefer it to the Mongoose on my other one.

All the Magnex exhausts hit with a 6° rear beam and have to have the mounting brackets repositioned to clear.

The brackets near to the back boxes just have to be cut off and re-welded in place to clear the inner arm joints (which they foul against as standard).

OK I spoke to Magnex, who said they would be able to do me 10 systems although I did have to beg them
If I could get enough interested I will be able to do them at the price we used to sell them at aswell.
RRP on these systems is Ł684.75 + postage !!!
I could sell them to peeps on here for Ł515 + postage (25% off)
I can deliver pretty much anywhere, but price needs to be confirmed on the postage to each destination

Thats not bad actually

I wonder if they will do them with the large old shaped tailpipe instead of the small oval they made that last batch with?

fitted that mongoose today , the things a disgrace in my opinion, the front section when bolted to turbo , makes the rest of the system about 25mm to long , the two chaps that put it on said it one o the worst fiiting exhausts they've seen , contrast this with the magnex they put on the my rs 2000 in about 15 mins . theyve actually said i should just send it back but it been fitted and i didnt think theyd have accepted it back, al be ditching it when the magnex arrives i just hope magnex maintain there quality on a low volume production run. ok rant over

strange that, as i fitted my mongoose on my own with just a set of ramps in around half an hour, perfect fit.

Default Magnex

Hello mate,

Would they do a Cat back version for the T25 Small Turbo Esc Cos, with the smaller oval tail pipe?
Thanks for making the enquiry to Magnex.

Cheers, Gez
