Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the RS500 thermostat is the same as the 4x4 Sapphire one?

I currently have a 4x4 Sapphire which I'm fitting an RS500 thermostat housing to, I want to use the 82 degree stat that's currently on my 4x4 as it's only 2 months old. Both stats look the same but just want to be sure before I swap them over.

Not 100% sure but think they are mate. Is the collar already out of the 500 casing as it can be fun to remove!! If not try this before you do anything else OK?

 

Collar was jammed solid in the housing so got a local machining company to drill and tap a couple of holes in the collar so I can pull it out using two bolts now.
