wierdly i looked on another forum for an unrelated matter, and right at the top was a 22 reply thread on this very subject.
in-fact they was all painting turbine housings and manifolds!
VHT flame-proof or Duplicolor 1500 they seem to be using with no problems at all even at that sort of mental heat, as well as some using BBQ paint.
VHT flame-proof seems best.
I used vht paint on my turbo and its been fine, just build it up with mist coats dont go mad with it and make it to thick otherwise you will have problems
Another option is PJ1, it's primarilly for Bikes and as such sold in Bike shops, but you dont have to bake it on and you can paint it at room temp, if it sticks to Bike manifolds then i'd imagine it would be fine for your usage... It's the best stuff I found
Ive never seen a paint that actually lasts on an exhaust manifold thats glowing red hot.
Got a link to the thread stav?
Glowing red hot, no I must admit I haven't either but I've seen the PJ1 stuff on Gixers etc and that has stayed on. i'd imagine the manifold on somin like that would get extremley hot.
