You've gotta put the key in the ignition & turn it 1 click then it'll come off as the lock is probably on

3 spoke???

Please tel me were talking steering wheel, not road wheels

Make sure the steering lock is off

Put the nut back on to the steering column loosly (to stop it twatting you in the face) and then pull like a bastard backwards and forewards and it should come off.

Severe cases might need a few taps with a rubber mallet

Forceful. Be careful though mate. I nearly knocked my self out. Grab it in the Quater to Three position and rock it/Wiggle it.
