Have been reading about it today in the papers as i didnt really know the ins and outs of it....... Bobby Charlton said that he saw things when he came round that he would NEVER EVER talk about again.......As a 20 Year old up and coming footballer he had alot to deal with

Pity he cant play like him, but not in the same universe im afraid. Duncan was the best English player of altime, Gerrard a good player of his day.

Football has moved on since those days....many of the legends of that era have been surpassed IMO.

not the right time to argue about it though, so i'll leave that one there.

VERY VERY sad.....not just for United but for football in general.

i seem to remember hearing about clubs loaning players to united to try to help them fulfil fixtures, including Liverpool and i think Man City.

Such a tragic loss

I prefer what Bobby Charton thinks, Edwards the greatest ever.
We are not talking fitness levels here just the ability to control a football game.
They were loaned no players but two came quickly Ernie Taylor from Blackpool & the Football Association changed its rules to allow Stan Crowther of Aston Villa to play in the cup for United despite being cup tied.
They reached the Cup Final amidst total Hysteria with this makeshift side.
They lost & thats when it hit home what had been lost as you say Tragic.
