Is there a difference between Dunlop D40,s fitted to 3 door/ RS500 and the one,s fitted to the sierra sapphire cosworth,s.

 

I can't think of any reason these should be different.

 

There is a central strip in one version and not in the other which has a wide groove instead (centrally) - right now don't have the full info to hand but that's the only difference. Sorry cannot recall which is which but am sure someone else can

 

3dr D40 had the tread depth marker running all the way around the middle of the tyre.

Saff D40 had the usual little markers runing across the tread from side to side, like you see now a days.

 

I can check later. I have the Dunlops my car was delivered on in december 1986....

 

One on ebay now - new 3dr one with original tyre - it has the central strip
