Default 17's on series 1?

got some 17's to go on my series 1, got 30mm dropp and 205/40 tyres, i already put them on once and got minor scrape on my own but with 3 people it was none stop, i dont fanccy doing much to the arches but will do if it nessecery. i was thinking of machining 5mm of the alloy where it meets the hub, should be clear of the suspension and could always space it out, wot do you reckon?
cheers

Do you know if the offset is right for your car? You could machine a small bit off the wheel where it fixes to the hub, but you run the risk of fouling the suspension, as this would bring the wheel further in! I think your best bet would be to trim a bit off the arches where its rubbing, only if you can't see it though!

they are ford rs 7 spokes so offset is correct, i donty fancy hacking tthe arches,
its only a matter of a few millimetres, i checked it all when i last put them on.
