2 snapped spark plugs on y reg 1300
i have just tried to change the spark plugs on my fiesta.when i looked at them they were full of rust it was that bad icould not get the socket on to the plug. it looks like they have not been changed for years as i have only had the car for 1 month.i chipped all the rust away so i can get the socket on and put some penertrating oil around each plug. but when i tried to take them out 2 snapped .leaving half the plug still in with the thread still in the block.anyone got any ideas how to get them out.will a easy out work i do not whant to take the head off help please
head off i'm afraid , even if you can try and get them out the debris will fall onto the pistons and into the bores potentially causing more damage
at least if you take the head off you can do other things while your there, H/gasket, cam belt etc

You don't have to take the head off.
Turn the engine over so it blows out the porcelain from the centre of the spark plug.
Then hammer an easy out into the remainder of the spark plug. Turn the easy out using a breaker bar. Make sure the easy out is in properly though, cos if it slips then they're really hard to get out.
Sometimes you do get a bit of crap that drops into the engine. Just turn the engine over before you put your new plugs in and it'll blow it all out. Have fun!

FFS don't use a cheapo easy out!!!!
we use a snap on one, the threads are very shallow and it takes the abuse.
I personally wouldn't try it with anything else.
if the easy out breaks, it's head off.
thanks for that. the inside of the 2 plugs have come out all i have left in the head is the threads of the 2 plugs the rest of the plug all came out when i tried to take them out thanks
