does any one know what the extra wire is for on an ofab loom

Default does any one know what the extra wire is for on an ofab loom

ive decided to upgrade my ofac loom to an ofab but ive got one bloody wire left over .cant for the life of me work out where it goes.the car starts but doesnt even idle it just dies straight away .if anyone can give me some advice it would be much apreciated.

what colour is it and what pin does it go to on the ecu plug? I think I have a haynes manual out in the shed for when I put a frst engine in my old mk5 esc.

he has the fuel rail plug, cps, iscv, engine loom to car loom, oil pressure switch, coil pack and evrything on the panel with the map sensor but has one plug left , get the colours up mate

he said the wire to the plug are black and brown with a yellow trace?

The only one I can see is a 2 pin plug - one black wire, one brown n yellow is the idle speed control valve!!

i think but cant remember off my head but think it is a 2 pin plug and doesnt have a long stretch of loom on it

right this is what i have on the wiring diagram:-


air temp sensor - 2 pin, Bn/Y and Bn

engine temp sensor - 2 pin, Bn and Bn/Gn

CO pot - 3 pin, Bn/Bk and Bn and Bn

idle speed cont valve - 2 pin, Bk and Bn/Y

Speed sensor (crank?) - 3 pin, Bn/W and Bn and Bk

injectors - 2 pin, Bk and Bn x 4 plugs

Map sensor - 3 pin, Bn/y and Bn and Bn/Bk

TPS - 3 pin, Bn/Gn and Bn/Bk and Bn

Boost control - 2 pin, Bn/Gn and Bk

It would run fine without that plugged in though!! unless he got em mixed up I suppose???

i know it would run fine without it as would it without the iscv but couldnt work out what it was, does ofac have amal valve plug?

yes, I swapped the mk5 loom for a fiesta rst one (ofac), Then once I realised the mk5 one was exactly the same except for the amal valve wiring so swapped back so I could put the ecu in the proper place.


Has he got an ofab ecu too?? sorry if thats a mong question, but the only difference I know is the map sensors are different, ofab has a weber type one.

ok sorted it ,turns out we had the amal valve and idle speed the wrong way round.
