Default Loss of power......

My 54 plate 1.7di vauxhall combo seems to be running way down on power. It only started this morning and its that bad that i sometimes struggle to get up the slightest inclines. Going up the M62 earlier i was struggling to hold it at 65mph and had to change down into 4th.

Theres no other symtoms, the engines running fine and is still smooth and there are no warning lights on either.

Anyone have any ideas on what i should check please???

Cheers.

Had a similar thing on a mondeo - was blocked exhaust after a cat change. Could this be possible on yours? (not the cat bit though obviously)

Hmmm not sure actually mate, but sometimes its ok even with the engine light on so i assume if it was a blocked exhaust then it would be sluggish all the time?

Im going to do a full service on it as its due anyway as see if that cures it. Ive been told it could even be a blocked air filter or fuel filter thats causing the light to come on and put it into limp home mode.

Cheers.
