best tuning route for a zetec?
i building a replacement for my fiesta, and i've just bought a 2.0 zetec from a focus.
the engine is being mid mounted into a mini.
i was wondering what my options were for tuning it, and i have just a few questions!
the car will be on aftermarket management, as i dont want to mess around with an old loom. got a few ideas, but any suggestions would be welcome
obviously there's the turbo option, but i don't realy want too harsh a power delivery, as i dont want the car swapping ends permantly! but do roller bearing turbos provided a solution for this?
i was also seriously considering the powerworks supercharger option, has anyone had any experience of these? the dollar is weak as hell at the moment, so its getting cheaper all the time!
where in the engine to i need to concentrate? is there a specific weak link, or a certain part that restricts performance?
basically i dont want to be bolting bits on/in if i'm wasting my money, and should be heading in another direction!
any other input would be greatly appreciated.

and management,
the maf sensor set up is limited,
alpha webber do a conversion for 1100 from burtons, takes you to 160 odd on standard inlet, so maybe bit more in st170
or just go for bike throttle bodies, or prover ones if you can afford them and megasquirt or gotec management,
then use either a tubular manifold or again an st170 one,
then head work and cams, need solid tappets if you going high revs, and they will need to be oversized if your going very high revs,
oil pump gears need changing for billit to
along with rods and pistons,
however, crank is good to 9k with arpbollts

not sure if i can stretch to the throttle bodies! it will have to have a custom exhaust manifold anyway, being in the back.
what about these powerworks supercharger kits then?
they claim well over 200bhp, but how true is this? dollar is pretty weak at the moment!

Turbo it.
run it slighly higher compresssion and a small turbo will make it less laggy and should help to keep you pointing in the right direction as the power will come on a lot smoother and not so harsh as with bigger turbos.
Swap pistons for forged ones.
rods are good for 250bhp if you get them shot peened and arp bolts but rods from the ststes are cheap as fu*k at the mo.
meagsquirt managment on a fiesta turbo inlet with adaptor plate with beige injectors.
loads of fiesta stuff on ebay megasquirt cheap and loads of stuff for the zetec on the dedicated forums.

i do have a focus rs turbo unit around somewhere so thats and option i suppose. not sure bout the lag though!
any suggestions on where to get the rods? same with pistons aswell i suppose?

Don't bother running supercharger, it costs you to power it from a pulley attatched to the crank.
Focus RS engine with take 390bhp on std internals (proven by scc)
I would like to see a bit more compression in a std motor, should be well responsive.
Rs focus turbo max 280bhp (genuine)
