My mate Wayne in his series 2 , was a quick car back in its day,he sold it a few years later and after a few owners it popped back up, "D788THK " is now white and has motorsport stripes over it and is a track toy was in one of the mags not to long ago.

Have you ever seen Tim or Ollies car go- and for that mater C+B should know better.

It doesn't rev hard enough or high enough to get anywhere near 165.

 

I have only just watched the video.

I really don't think that did anything like 165mph. It doesn't have the 100-150mph acceleration rate that mine has (not seen Tims or Oli's from that perpsective, but they would no doubt agree).

Must remember to do an in-car video if mine ever see's the light of day again.

 

I'd have to agree with Christian, that car simply does not have enough acceleration after 100mph to pull 165mph down Bruntingthorpe.

For example, from a standing start Oli's can pull off the clock in 14 seconds. In that video it takes a lot longer than 14 secs to pull the 2nd half of the speedo!!! BIG difference.

what kind of power and spec did this car have. 145mph seems more feasible but that's still quick

Dave at RPM built the engine if I remember correct it was about 200bhp steel crank and rods forgot what turbo but had Saab outlet! Very quick at the time

Now500 reg rs500 mountune built engine also a mega car of the time

Long gone is that car iirc mate,think it was broken up and someone on here bought the shell to put back on the road.

 

Was sold to someone called Liam on the RSOC forum. His E-TAH grey car was rotten. He bought the shell to swap everything over, lost heart with the whole scene and sold everything on seperately.

I never heard what happened to the white shell after that. But Bam restored the grey shell.
