right my brothers been looking to buy a mk5 rs2000 but trying to find one in the right condition and for the right price, seen a few but they'v gone etc.

we seen a xr3i for sale with the rs2000 engine in so we thought if any thing he could buy a nice mk5 xr3i and get a mk5 rs2000 engine etc.

just woundering if many of you have done it? problems encounterd?

mount places in the same place from both engines? shafts etc? wiring

as much info as possible would be great, i dont mind doing some modding of wiring etc and making things fit so not affraid

Very few people do it as a ZETEC transplant is easier, cheaper plus the engine is lighter, easier to tune etc.

heard there good engines and its different to the usual zetec.

he probably just go 2.0 zetec if the rs engine is too much work, but seen it done on a few cars so is possible but im not sure whats involved, and dont want to tackle it not knowing realy as it isnt my car, if it was mine id just rip it out and try it but he wants it in and out quickly lol
