UPDATE AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

been looking on here for a while now and thought i would put a few pics of my project i am doing at the minute,
bought a 4wd starlet of ebay for 640 quid with plans to strip it all back and make it a gt replica but going fully forged and 1.5 block and using the td05 i have
i swapped my white gt which was td04 lsd etc with a mate for his not so good looking gt



then started stripping and swapping everything over





engine out



dash and loom out of car






gearbox all cleaned down and painted

front bumper all cut out

5efe engine


inlet given a quick clean up

engine bay rubbed down and sprayed black


bit more work done today, complete loom swapped over, steering rack, brake servo, master cylinder, clutch cyclinder, pedals all conected back up, steering coloum swapped over, fuel lines had to be cut and joined as the gt has different fuel filter connector, brake lines put in, gt calipers, disc and stering rack fitted to hub and wishbone, heater and air con all removed fron inside dash, as the wiring is different, power steering fitted

got a few pics and parts, BIG intercooler 34 inch wide, front and rear anti roll bar's will have to modify the back one to fit as the diff is in the way, trd engine mounts, toby's catch can, apexi avcr, loads of intercooler piping, anyone got any links on wiring in the avcr







got 5e engine completely stripped down and done a few more photoshop's






cleaned and polished out the head too

















carpet been taken out and floor all primed up and resprayed black, and I have ordered TURBO:rockon:




this the turbo i pick up on monday .63 hot side and the 4" anti suge

 

Looks like you have got yourself a good project

 

Interesting project, my mrs had a starlet gt and now a glanza.

What's the 4wd system strength like then? 400bhp should be a fair test for it

how did you paint it?

can you give me a quick run down on painting it please

 

gave it a quick blast with pressure washer then some degreaser then blacst it again then used hammerite smooth, painted it on with brush

not very often you see a starlet on the roads, cool little cars... this ones gonna be a wee bit better

 

should be a wee beast when done

 

yeah should be fairly quick when done ,

 

picked up new turbo from cr turbo's is a t3-60-1 witha .48 hot side,

yeah that 22b was one of the nicest car at the show, did he run that day?

dont feel too bad about the drive system as is is 4wd or is it awd?
the difference is 4wd is not always on( like skylines GTR'S) while awd is always activated ( like evos)
honda make a 4wd wagon version of their civic that comes with less than 130hp and even though a lot of people slated it it has been used on honda D16s producing around 400hp

got car back from bodyshop. smoothed in petrol cap.airiel (sp) and rear boot lock and wiper
and picked up a few other little bit's external fuel pump, air filter and wastegate

I use the same Turbo as you (also with a .48 housing, AVC-R and Tial 38mm) - watch out for compressor surge. Great project!

a 250bhp starlet would make a m3 silly, let alone 400

yeah it not a turbo starlet but same chassis-body etc

A mate of mine did a 230bhp 1.3 starlet in ST orange last year and that was quick as fook!! This is going to be immense

How strong is the 4wd setup?

Starlet turbos are awesome cars

don't no how strong it is, but pose to be one in eirope running over 300, and couple in NI with over 200,

 

bit more of an update, just need's suspension and all oils put in and were off
