Default Fiesta ZetecS Help

basically my mate has a mk5 fiesta zetecs ... w reg and he needs a new crank at least so hes getting another engine ...

other than him puttin a phase2 engine in, what other engines will work ... like will a 2 litre zetec work etc and i no he will have to upgrade the brakes etc

any help would be

The 2 ltr is a different engine. The 1.6 ZETEC SE quite a good engine so stick with it.

unfortunatley you cant change the crank on these engine...........you need a complete short motor!

now i was told the same bout these engines and have changed my big ends 3 times now BUT i recently found somewhere over size big ends so u can now get the crank ground wiv new bearings which im gonna try soon

as for upgrade engines puma 1.7 engine is around 125bhp or the puma racing is 150-155bhp, straight ish fit.

The old ZS motor is quite well known for spinning it's main bearings don't think it helps that half teh ZS owners just seem to sit at shows bouncing their cars off the limiter.

Anyway, The 1.7 from a Puma is supposed to be pretty straight forward but the later Yamaha derived 1600 Zetec really isn't a bad motor at all. Certainly nothing like the old Zetec 1.6 which was about as nice to have a genital warts

wot u sayin bout us ZS owners lol! i no wot ur sayin, my biggest mistake was puttin 10k boost in my engine wivout checkin the oil level! sayin that this was 3 years and over 40000miles ago so it aint done bad, tbh il b gutted to see my engine go cos its done me so proud but onwards and upwards
