Today we managed to make a start on the Escort Cabbie we got in, it belongs to the lad I work for. He's had it from when he passed his test and gave it a full shoot a few years back. But after having it back on the road for 3 weeks someone pulled out into the side of him and mangled the rear quarter on it. That was 2.5 year ago and its been in the garage and just gettin done as and when we have a minute or can be arsed. In its time being sat its had new suspension, is now fitted with a 1.8 130bhp XR3i engine, 2wd cossie brakes, new fuel tank, new brake lines and other stuff including a set of Escos wheels which look good on it. We sourced a good 2nd hand quarter and that has now been fitted. All interior was removed today and the wiring all checked for good continuity and tidied up. Only a few odds and sods of repairs left now and then its ready for paint. Not much booked in for the next few weeks as yet so hopefully it will be done soon.

As we have been busy over the past few weeks there has been no progress, except it has arches and a sideskirt on one side.

Hopefully work will commence on it again soon.

We have managed to do a little more to it today, all of the kit is now on, sills stoneguarded, inner arches stoneguarded and the doors built back up with glass and rubbers etc.





Even got the roof on too.




The new style Recaro isnt to my taste but hey everyones different



Not much left to do now, fingers crossed it will be out in the next month or so.

 

looks good, got my cabby off road now gonna start strippin it soon, goin for an engine transplant and wanted to go the zetec route ,does it drop straight in or is there much involved getting it to fit,

not started yet but wanna know wot im up against lol

Woo hoo, its done. Except wiring in the power hood which may be this weekends job.

All taxed tested and legit on the road again now.

I do and dont like the bonnet, but its his car and its what he wanted so it had to be done. Personally I think Id have went for the normal one but it still looks good nevertheless.
