i think i capri looks way better than a saff IMO.....its a shame you insurance won't stretch to a decent 3.0S ....I've driven a few of those and had some real fun. But like Stavros said, you could get a mint saff cos rep for peanuts these days...

I know insurance is a killer,i remember paying £2000 third party for my series one when i was 17 way back in 1990.....it still haunts me till this day

But it was designed over 30 years ago,not many cars had tidy breaks, suspension back then. Everyones has their own opinion, just pisses me off people making comments like that.I got 2 capris and yes the brakes are crap compared to modern cars, but still a lot of fun and cheap and easy to repair.Until you put a yb in one like me and get all the problems of a cossie aswell.lol.

There are endless tuning possibilities on a 2.0 pinto, can make a quick car with some head and cam mods.

I've had a few 2.0S in the past and currently have this

Save up for the 3.0 S

My old one

I had a 2.8 but it was soul less ( the 3 litre did have the Swaymar Holly, big valve heads, Janspeeds, 3.1 conversion and 2.8 billies though)

If you do go for a Capri, make sure you check it over properly for the dreaded tinworm...They are well known to rust easily like most 80's fords and are especially vunerable in the bit between the bumpers

Go for a 2lt if you can.... Or get a 1.6 and dump a 2.L in such an easy job!
