hi,
ive just finished puting the 2.0 zetec lump and 1800rs inlet in to my 1.6 fiesta,
but now ive got a hesitation/misfire when below 1/4 throttle,
and the revs are constanlty going up and down at idle, like its strugaling to run,
all the sensors are pluged in, and im using a 2.0 desk ecu, with the maf that cam with the engine (its from an auto)
is it ok to use the maf from the other type of ecu with my desk ecu. ????
need to get thei misfire sorted, im also getting about 16mpg
any help would be greatly appreciated

Ref the mpg, lambda sensor?
And you can only use a 2.0 MAF with a 2.0 ECU & vicaversa
Did you change injector o-rings? Are you using 2.0 injectors?
I take it you've tried spraying WD40 around the inlet?

tried the wd40 now, still nothing, no change in revs at all
i did unplug the idle control valve, and nothing changed either, i was expecting it to stall, but it carried on hunting,
so does that mean its my icv, i have a spare so could try that

check the injector seals are all in ok mate,
sounds like an air leak to me, vacuum hoses? right inlet gasket? injector seals?
get a long piece of tubing, vac hose or someting, put one end to your ear and move the other end round the inlet, will find an airleak in no time if thats the problem.

been to chat to a mate about it, hes in the trade, he said air leak on the inlet aswell,
another thing i thought of was, when i put the engine in i used the 2.0 breather insted of the 1.6 breather (on the front of the block) and i didnt have the right pipe, so i blocked the pipe that would go from the inlet to the breather of, and the block breather vents to atmos, could that be the problem ?
