i know of an f-reg 525i with 360k still going strong on original engine

 

360k thats alot of miles.

 

250000 isnt uncommon on e30's like mine. thats reliability un known to fords i think.unfortunately mine is powered by a ford engine now and im lucky to see 10000 miles between breakdowns .

 

About 10-12 years ago BMW and Mobil oil ran a E30 325i Sport for a million miles on a dyno or similar between 50-80mph and serviced it everytime the service lights told them to...... After 1,000,000 miles they stripped the engine and everything was still in tolerance for a new engine.... Fookin show offs...lol

Was in a fairly new Merc taxi in Germany a few weeks ago, current shape too, so not that old, and it had 750,000km on it
