Now that ive finally bitten the bullet and moved in with the missus, the 32" flat screen is now on its way.

do I compliment this with a PS2 or an Xbox?

 

I'd go PS2 all the way mate, due to games are getting cheaper and fookin loads of em. X-Boxes are getting popular now though. Did have both but sold the X-Box.

The new PS2 is out november 1st, same price as current PS2 as well, you can pre order it on game.uk.com for 105 quid

Meant to be quicker then the first one and a bit slimer.

 

I found the decesion swayed more towards which of my mates had a ps2 or xbox and therefore who could i borrow games off. 90% in favour of the ps2, so thats wot i went for.

 

I've just bought my Silver PS2 recently PURELY for GT4 to get a bit of 'ring' practice in!!

Am currently working through GT3 + F104 (came with the console) and am loving it after 4 years out of 'gaming'. So I would say PS2 purely for the GT series!

 

You bought the wrong one then mate as its out already on Xbox with PGR2 which is SOOOOO good online its unreal

No mate, I've played PGR2 loads as my mate has an X-Box + it aint really that realisitc imo, as I would've thought someone who's been there would agree!

The speed you take through some of the bends it crazy, or perhaps I'm just too slow round 'the ring'!!

The GT version looks loads better from the screen shots anyhow + I much prefer GT over PGR.

xbox - "uprated" mine at weekend - now has snes,megadrive, neo geo etc, multi region dvd player - plays all div x and lets you "backup" your games - 200gig drive goes in it this weekend and start my blockbuster membership

Love my PS2 which has also had a stage one so plays "backups"

Ps3 is not due till around xmas 2005 in japan so sometime 2006 for the rest of us.

best getting both IMO get a hard drive and the appropriate disc and you will never have to buy a game for them!

you dhould be able to get both for a little over £100, and if you get both chipped you'll never pay much for games, just cant go online with a chipped xbox unless you have the chip thats you can switch off.

I did the same, although mines only 30" Got a PS2 with all the 5.1 connected up, sounds the dogs!

not really... I would sell you the xbox cheap as I would replace it with a clear one as they look fooking cool BUT I have all my games on the harddisk and all my XBOXLIVE settings stored and software on there as well and it took Warren 7.78 years to get it working in the first place!

 

save some money and get a ps2, secondhand they are dirt cheap

mates got both and he reckons xbox is better when you plat they same game on them and the chips for the Xbox are no got mine done yet but cant wait for a game of mario cart

 

Chips are easy to fit to either for playing 'backups'. Also a HDD can be added to PS2 and also upgraded easily on an XBOX. Good deals on chip fitting if you need it Dave
