Default cam belt timing cossie

hi just want to no how to time her up ive got the diagram wiv everything showing me were to be just want to no how to do it do i loosen od the belt tension pulley then just adjust everything then put cambelt back on tighten the tension back up help will be grat cos dont want to damage any valves lol

make shore you get the bottom pulley on no1 pick up lug not on the line in the pulley i know a lot people who have made this mistake

the grove in the pulley is that wat you mean that goes just past the tdc line and the lug lines up wiv the tdc line is that write

if you look at your dizzy there is a mark on the top edge which you line the rotar arm up with

write got another problem carnt find no markings to time the crank pulley up wiv as anybody got a pic of wat the lug should be timed up wiv carnt find no marks or nothing

If you look down below the alternator you should see a bit of metal sticking out from the block. It's at about the 10 o'clock position on the pulley.

yeah ive looked for that is it like a thin bit of metal stinking out which joins onto the block i bit further down

If you NEVER done this before be VERY careful and make sure you wind her over manually a few times to make sure no piston valve contact

for gold members only well up to now i have lined the cam pulleys so arrows pinting to each other in middle put aux shaft towards dizzy mark put crank pulley lined the lug up wiv the metal thingy sticking out of block so now just put the cambelt back on and tighten the tension up then turn the crank pulley by hand a few times to see if any noises like valves hitting pistons

all done soughted started first go but i never replaced the rocker cover gasket wiv a new 1 just put the old 1 back on do i need a new 1 as it was a new 1 last time i had the rocker cover off about 3 month ago or do i just put some gasket sealent over it ect

i would replace it mate if you dont it could leak oil in to the plug holes and it makes a big mess to clear up
