JOINING A COSWORTH LOOM TO A MK2 RS 2000??????????

Default JOINING A COSWORTH LOOM TO A MK2 RS 2000??????????

HI CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT COLOUR WIRES AND WHERE ABOUTS THE TWO LOOMS MUST BE JOINED TOGETHER ON THE IGNITION WIRES I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE LOCATED INSIDE THE CAR BUT I THOUGHT OTHERWISE (ENGINE BAY) CAN ANYONE HELP??

PLUS WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE EXTRA WIRES FROM THE OLD LOOM I.E COIL ETC??

Sure andy could wire it up for you mate just tape the old loom out the road only a few coil wires anyway

yo, not got any way to get the car to him everything is all plumbed in just need to know what wires to join i was told its only three wires?? il get there somehow lol cheers

get your self over to www.turbosport.co.uk and in the cosworth tec forum it tells you hope you get it sorted

right guys here we go you will be running in 10 mins

red/black (thick)=fuel pump
red/blue (thick)=batt +
black(thick)=ign switch
green(thin)= rev counter
brown/white(thin)=water temp
brown/green(thin)=oil switch
brown/red=ecu diag light
hope that help's if not then like i said you need turbosport

TOP TIP turn it over with no plugs in it to get the oil pressure up first

i always take the plugs out and the oil feed off the turbo that way you can see when the oil is follwing

thanks lads i normally disconnect something so it wont start no matter what car i have always better to be on the safe side not touched the car since cause of x mass but next few days il get started on it. never wired anything up bar a car stereo before but this should help still dont have a clue what wires to join it to on the rs loom but knowing whats what on the cosworth loom has helped big time!! thanks again https://passionford.com/forum/images...s/smile011.gif

Another tip the black ignition live needs to be connected to the loom as its voltage sensitive which means when you turn on lights etc the idle speed valve does its job

thanks paul as i said before i dont have a clue what joins to what thisis the only bit ofthe build i realy dont have a clue il have a look but if i aint happy il just pay someone to do it i am moving the fuse box also to a modern style fuse on the dash if anyone can tell me what colour wires to join together it would save a lot of bother lol thanks again mate
