I jsut accidently saved a blank screen over some text in word.. is there any way i can go back and retrieve the text? i cant do undo....

its kind of important... thanks very much

If the text is still there, when you close word, word will ask you if you want to save it before closing.


But i know nowt so dont take that as gospel

no the text isnt there i saved the text then tried to rename the blank file but it saved the blank over the old text instead....

I'd say probably not but there's a slight chance, if you open the Word document in Notepad, that some remnants of your text may be in there

Notepad - Start/All Programs/Accesories/Notepad.

Once in Notepad go into File/Open, change file types to "All Files" and then open your Word document. There will be loads of code and your original text may just also be in there too. If so, block it and copy it into a fresh Word document. If not, I'm fresh out of ideas
