When mapping it make sure the laptop doesnt go into stand by mode...if it does and you turn it back on the S8 Software seems to corrupt...so in affect any adjustments made are corrupt too and can seriouly kill your engine If you put a new map in.....it will also be corrupted UNLESS you switch off and re start the software.

Make sure you turn stand by mode OFF.

not really surprising is it phil when youve got a live I/O feed to an external device and all of a sudden you switch the power off
