bailey breather

i take it that its a four pipe one if so read on

the large pipe on the underside is a vent pipe and therefore just drops safley down to the athomosphere

the other pipe low down goes around the back of the engine just above the gearbox housing and returns into the block and drains back into the sump Look for a 17mm nut plug on the highest part of the block about 3 inch away from the bulkhead and the drivers side remove it a put in the fitting with the cranked end

the pipe on the upper side on the passenger side goes on the kidney box breather note keep the whole kidney box in place

the final pipe goes to the rocker cover,u will need to drill a hole and weld in place the adaptor given with it

If you need more info let me know

As said

Some big power cars took the extra breather direct from the sump as opposed to the rocker cover though. Have the official ford pic here somewhere but here's a Harvey Gibbs lump with it fitted near the oil pump area.

Heres another from the other side - the tissue sticking out at bottom left is where the return pipe to the sump goes... this one was aeroquip and threaded - most are just an elbow. As said - its usually blanked off with a 17mm nut

(Bottom right tissue in the pic is the turbo return of course.)

Most people mount them next to the battery - you can use the top bolt on the panel to fit it - where the central plastic can be removed to access the fan heater.

Dont have a great shot - but can see it here.

It will breath via the standard kidney box as usual - only the vapour will now be caught in the breather pot and return any oil to the sump. Just blank the other opening off temporarily with a short length of pipe and a nut stuck in the end - or something neater if you have it.

If not the vapour will spray an oily mist out into the bay.

Be sure to run a length of pipe out the bottom of the pot of course - or it will get messy right below it

Yes - have seen that - I'd go for the rocker cover fitting tho - neater and less liable to come apart. Maybe get a second hand cover with the fitting already sorted?
