60GB one has been discontinued, so if you find a shop with a 60GB one your very lucky!!

Sony are currentlyonly selling the 40GB one, so if you wanna play PS2 games you will have to wait and see if they release a backwards compatable one if the future.

As it is im really torn between a 360 ELite or PS3, if i cant play my PS2 stuff then i might as well go for the 360..

Anybody know anywhere with 60 gig PS3's in stock then?

Ill have a look..

Just had a look on the PS3 website and there is a list of games with a 'compatability' rating, 1 - 3. Does this just apply to the 40gig version?

Will the 60 play them all without any bother?

If you have PS2 games i assume you have a PS2 to play them on?? if so who gives a damn that your new PS3 wont play them? besides you will be too busy enjoying your new PS3 games

Apparently the PS3 will have an add on to become a DVR early 2008 - called Play TV.

that applies to the 60gb version as i understand it as it emulates a ps2. the 40gb version cannot play ANY ps2 games afaik

Billabong nice one that is what i need to justify buying one will wait until after christmas though and see what happens with possibly the 80gb one

right then, given that i cant get a fookin' 60gig PS3 anywhere, shall i 'settle' for a 40gig?

As you know, the only reason i wanted a 60 was to play my old PS2 stuff, after havindg a rethink ive decided to junk the dvd player from the bedroom an replace it with my old PS2, that way i can still watch DVD's and play the old PS stuff should i feel like it.

Sooo... to all 40gig owners/potential buyers, is there anything else i'll miss out on by having a 40 rather than 60?
