Default Leaky boot seal?

My boot seal is leaking a bit

Take it this means time for a new seal? Does anyone know if they are still available from ford?

Thanks.

Which car mate?? Many saffs leaked from new - like the rest of the range. The trick used to be to just lift them a little and they sealed fine. 3 door seals should show wear before they leak. Try the talcum powder test before you go replacing it imo

Its a sapph. I pulled it up a bit earlier, but i got too cold to be arsed testing it The seal itself looks mint, hopefully pulling it up will stop the leak. I'll give it a test tomorrow.

Thanks!

Is it deffo round the seal that it's leaking? Cos the spoiler bolt hole rusts and causes leak into the boot too.

Check the rear light seals, they are the number one cause of water in the boot.

Its deffo only the seal. Light seals are fine and there is 110% no rusty holes.
I tested it by pouring water down the back window, you can see where the seal isn't quite sealing properly, hopefull the old pull up has worked

Could be boot lid catch needs lowering slightly,to pull boot lid down abit more onto seal

Had a rattle on my Saph,it was the boot lid, lowered the catch and it sorted it

On some of the early saffs the boot curves a bit more than the aperture its supposed to fit - right under the rear window and water can pour in if its heavy - light water runs down the troughs as it should. Ford sent out a dealer note to lift the seal off and to add sealant under it to raise it slightly.

If sealant is there (usually black) its probably just lost its grip so the seal dropped back onto the ridge again. The official fix just wore out )

Good old Ford design mate
