I would appreciate some advice I spotted this on pistonheads.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/292185.htm
It up for 7.8k. Its got everything going for it, except that I live 350 miles away from it and the car has done 140k. But the engine was rebuilt by the godfather 24k ago+ the suspension has been renewed.
I think from what i can see that its a real clean car. original panels.
But the mileage at 140k, If I was to buy it and then sell it later it's gonna be hard to sell it, because the high mileage just puts you off a bit. even tho it only works out to 7k/year.
MY question is would you buy it if its the best you can afford but you would want to sell it in the future?
Or would you buy a lower mileage say 70-80k 3 door at £8k stretching the budget, but knowing that it would ideally need an engine rebuild soon to cope with 330bhp. ???? I'm still deciding please give me some views.

Cracked dash very common..
I'd really give it a good examination underneath too, they really do rust quite bad some of them if not treated with wax oil regularly.
Check inner wings, look aroung the bottom of the spoiler for rust, bottom of the doors etc.
Usual noises when started from cold, i.e any slappyness of the eingine, feel how the clutch, gearbox feel on the test drive, brakes etc..
High milage cars can be a good buy also, don't let this put YOU off
But yes, like you've asked BUY the best your budget allows AND don't buy the first you see, have a look at a few examples.
Hope this helps for now??
Pete..

From: scotland, under my cossie!
That belongs to a member of my local RSOC group,
From what i've seen its a very nice car, seems to have been a pretty well looked after example,
and kenny has spent afew quid on it since he got it too.......
Well worth a look i'd say, more you see the more you'll know if its for you or not.

I bought it.
Well impressed with the car so chuffed i drove it over 400 miles without 1 hiccup.
Kenny, ex owner) was brilliant even picked my friend and me up from
the train station. top bloke. I can't believe I own a 3 door. The looks I got from driving it home hee.
At last i own my dream car. I'd love to live in Scotland.. so much nicer up there.

It burnt a plug out 2 days ago, Not the tip but internally,
There were 3 x ik 31's and 1 p8??? But it was a i31 that died.
I replaced the set with a new set of 071c's.. and it was fine for 2 days and now i've got a missfire when the boost rises over 15psi, If you quarter throttle it's fine as its boosts to about 15psi, but if you floor it in any gear it misses over 15psi.. I'm gonna try regap the plugs as I didn't do it,,
Failing that its either phase sensor, ht lead,, or its sods law because of my number plate

Alright mate nice motor, If ya cannot find the prob i would call MSD as i see they set it up to stage 3 not long ago. As ya said check the plug gaps and phase sensor, also all ya leads/ dizzy etc. Boost hoses are worth a check 2. Good luck.
Bought my Cossie in Scotland. Lovely country and all that. But still get that rocker cover fixed!
As for your recent misfire, sounds like the classic Cossie misfire, I'd start a new thread if I were you.
