Mate, found another PC I am interested in (Dell system)

Got a P4 with 1GB cache and 120gb HDD and the usual CDRW/DVD-ROM combo drive, but only has a 256mb RAM....

How do I go about upping that to 512 if I buy this?

Also no monitor, but does have Graphics Card, Keyboard, Modem, Mouse, Network Card, Operating System, Speakers, USB...

Plus a 1.44 floppy which is a MUST (as my old dear brings all her lesson plans home from school on floppy and needs floppy at home to print etc)

So can you get hold of black Dell monitors on the cheap? Might have alead on a 15" TFT but TBH, if it comes to it, a 17" CRT will do.....

THere's another thread on here somewhere... but basically, I emailed him as soon as it finished, asking for the address and when could I come collect it, and he maile me back the following after noon saying he was sorry, but he was under the impression it didn't sell so he flogged it to a mate at work that day (day after it finished) Which is most likely bollox - probably didn't make enough on it as hoped so he don't want to let it go

 

thats what i thought, hed say summit like that, is pretty cheap n all but the value of 2nd hand dell pc's aint helped by dell themselves selling new ones dirt cheap

 

They are sheap but I only got Ł300 available (not my money, it's my old dear paying) and to get a new dell with P4, 512, 40gb and all the other stuff - cheapest is Ł343 and that's Celeron not P4 - P4 adds another Ł150 on top

 

yeah i jus been on trying to see what they go for

ive built em before for about that money but thats without monitor, cud ya not use the one ya got for the meantime?

We need a more uptodate one, and ideally a complete system as my old dear is needing PC more and more for school work... thought of building one but tbh don't know enough about em to know when I gtting bargains etc and what is compatible..... So just gonna keep looking I guess

complain to ebay, thats all u can really do, its a bit weak i know, or jus let it slide and neg feedback the coont
