cosworth Flywheel

When removing my flywheel today i noticed that one of the dowels had sheared off. Anyone know what might have caused this?

are the dowls not replaceable?

they are replaceable, i dont know how hard they are to remove though especially a sheared off one

drill a hole in the dowl, heat up the area around it and whap an easyout in there - might get it out?
