brought a new paddle clutch of ebay for my escort, it has been open but not used, but additionally it had these in the box:

2 brackets

cant tell size from that pick but they look the right shape for those drum to disc brake conversion plates.

not sure if those holes look square enough.

the bolt holes are not square so does that mean they're not?

they look like rear disk conversion brackets,the holes arent supposed to be square as the fixings on the knuckle where the drums are bolted arent square

brilliant, they would have been for an escort then, is the bracket ment to be the same thickness throughout as i dont think mine are?

yeh they look exactly like mine on my car,i would have thought the bracket should be the same thickness all the way round but cant see it being a problem just as long as they arent to thin

yeh 6mm should be fine,yeh i think its 2wd discs and calipers as i think 4wd rear discs are vented but not to sure,oh and i think its a mk5 or 6 rs2000 handbrake cable you need aswell

i only know cause i had to change my rear knuckles when i put poly bushes on the rear of my car and the tie bar bushes were rusted in place

i think most of the ford rear calipers are similar,cossie ones or late shape granada or scorpio ones should work just as long as they have solid discs on the back

them plates go for about Ł45, so you got a very good deal there!!

you need 2wd discs/callipers/pads, mk5 rs2000 handbrake cable and some longer rear brake lines - from rainbird or burton power etc

see the last issue of fast ford for how to fit them!
