Default Phase sensor adjustment

Measuring the gap I have a tight 10 thou, I have loosened the 2 screws but no movement. What am I doing wrong? What symptoms would I get with a tight gap?

The holes under the screws do not seem to be elongated so where is the adjustment

one of the mounting holes is slightly larger than required to allow for adjustment

as said, it has a magnetic base, so lever the sensor over using a small screwdriver between the sensor mounting plate and the dizzy body to make sure it hasn't gunked itself into place before setting the gap correctly

the correct clearance is 0.2-0.3mm, so a slightly tight 10 thou is OK

Thanks guys I'll give it a try, any ideas as to what a wide gap would do to the running and what would a tight gap do?

tight gap would probably be OK

if the gap was too wide, the engine wouldn't start
