race cars run a little oil as they can get away with for that reason.

less oil will give higher oil temp so thinner oil.

less oil = less drag.

cause when ever my fuel economy goes down my oil is low, i refill and it seems to get better

aint the only car either and ive been told a few people noticed this

oh race engines and road engines aint the same thing

im talking about my fuel economy went to 12mpg, i looked at a few things and found nothing,, checked the oil and it was a little low

now im back to 15mpg hence me posting

maybe its placebo

 

race engines and road engines work the same way, there is no voodoo magic in a race engine to make them work the opposite way round.

its simple science.

steve 30mph and top speed/revs are different conditions though so hard to compare and be acurate

but maybe it IS a placebo, just strange that the car WAS low on oil

also a little low on water but the water temp wasnt higher than norm

 

formula 1 run dry sump engines so friction loss due to oil "slurpage" (cant think of a better word)is not a problem. You'll probly find the loss of power is due to lack of oil round the rings resulting in lower compression. I am pissed so reserve the right to delete post when sobre...
