make up a floppy disk that is bootable and put the mapping software on that floppy disk then insert the disk, turn on the laptop, et voila... mapping software appears

i can make you one if you want, i've got version 1.4D of the mapping software, so if youve got a newer version you'll have to mail me that newer version first

should only take me about 2minutes to knock you up a disk n post it out

morpheos, i beleive it wont sork in XP due to the way NT based apps access hardware and you can never give anything 100% priority

just guessing mind...

brom, i could probably knock up a bootable CD for you in that case if you like...

I take it the software is connected to the ecu or reader by the serial port then.

Some versions of XP will work with serial hardware attatched in a dos window, some sadly will not.

If the secs is a new bit of kit, how come the software is made for DOS ?

Bosch Man,

really interested in knowing how easy this ecu is to self map as i was seriously thinking about going down the same road
A colleague of mine has told me he would show me how easy it all is(works at dunton), however, i would like to hear straight from a mapping virgins mouth!!!

I may contact SECS for a demo as well

keep me informed please

morpheous, at 1st i thought dos based software was a SHIT idea...

then you realise that youre trying to do these adjustments at over 100mph in the car and its FUCKING hard to use a mouse!

the software is BRILLIANTLY easy to use, and works very well as a dos based system!

however they are releasing a graphical windws version for those people who want to look cool when they map

sorry jim, but when you know how to use software, regardless of what OS its in you never need to use the mouse.

It has nothing to do with graphical views of a GUI, has purely got to do with its 2004 not 1994.
