Default How far do you travel to work?

The job Im after means driving an hour each morning, and then at night back home...

Thing is, its not motorway driving, so traffic could prove a problem in the mornings But the job is ideal!

Would you?

1 hour is quite a way. but it depends on you. do you like the job that much that you will move, do you like where you live and the job that you will put up with it or look elsewhere.

i drive an hour each way to work and back.

it takes about 1.5hours if i dont use motorway, but sometimes go other routes just as motorway is so boring.

ive coped fairly well with it TBH, would be nice not to have to tho

I have an 8 min drive each way & soo far ive only been there 2 days !!!

My old job would take from 45 mins to 2 hours i was relying on the merci of the m25 but the job paid well

If the job is what you want then the drive will be worth it

I'm home based but 3 out of the 5 days I'm in one of our offices. I can travel anywhere between 40mins to 2hours to get to one of our offices. On a rare occasion I go up to Glasgow which if I drive will take 4+ hours.

BUT - I don't have to do an 8 hour day when I get there which really makes the difference and can stay over in hotels.

If I was doing 9-5 for 5days a week then an easy travelling 60-75mins would be OK as I'm used to it. Being stuck in traffic for that time would tip me over the edge so it would have to be 60mins at 50+mph

Plus all my fuel is paid so distance isn't a bother.

40 miles there = 45 mins on bike or 2 hours in a car

Exactly I work in Slough which is half hour away from my home but my boss has just come up with the brainwave that Langley is 5 minutes away (like fuck it is) so it looks like my journey time might be doubling and some You can tell he lives in Lancashire

oh thinking about it i used to ride to work till i was 21 years old on a bike and never had a crash or accident

50cc on your licence, upto 125 on a cbt and then you do a test and can drive a gilera 180,,,,, fucking monsters i tell thee !!!

when i was 14 driving a few billy wizz,,, that felt fast,,,,,,,, a 180 runner or a dna,,,,,, fucking hell

just watch the road though

oh my old work bike was a peugeot speedfight 100,, that done 70mph around the westend at times

a DNA aint got the best turning circle though but looks like a monster

get one and just be aware of whats round you

hell i went on a bender a few times and drove my bike home,,,, one day i was going though a real shite time with my first kid ect and was on a suicide thing almost and i was wrecked and coked up with no sleep for 2 days and STILL managed to get home ( dont recomend that though)

they piss to drive,,,,, kids of allages can ride em

an hour - i wish work was that close to home.

Rad, current job consists of 5 motorways and getting around the M25 and also around birmingham
just over 200 mile journey and on average a 4 hour drive.

and going back 2 years, my journey to work used to consist of 30 minutes travel to gatwick, followed by a flight to ireland and then traveling thru belfast, which was actually quicker than the job im on at the moment

Bollocks!

I've ridden most bike's around and i can say hand on heart that the ped's do not inspire confidence at all

Cos there shit
And someone said you can ride i 50cc on your licence. It depend's on when you passed your car test.

For traveling to and from work a bike is a lot better than a car.

I have a 125 that has been clocked at 122 mph

If you want a 125 on a cbt go for an aprillia or cagiva you'll get bored of 4 stroke's in the first week.

Take the restriction off and you'll see with a bit of fettling 115+mph

Mate i could show you how in about an hour how to do it!
I have alway's felt more confident on a bike than been in a car not ball's out speed but round town.
Imho bike's are easyer than car's to learn.
When your on a bike you seem to see danger's that are not really there yet. Where as when your in a car you wait for it to happen.

I'll take you out and show you gears anytime mate
