I need a van for one journey, so as long as it has a few months MOT left I don't really care what the condition is. It needs to make it about 1500 miles though so I don't want one with a fcuked clutch etc

Where is the cheapest place to pick one up, like I say if it does the 1500 miles (legally) and with what I put in the back still in the back after that journey then thats all I'll ask of it.

Car auction a good bet? Theres a BCA at Blackbushe airport and they seem to do LOADS of different auctions, from just light commercial to things like royal mail, so would probably have to go to a few different days. any other places to look?

 

Surely will be cheaper to rent one for few days? A transit size van with insurance is only £45 per day and all you have to pay on top is fuel?

Renting isn't really an option as I will be driving it to Spain and not coming back in it. One-way hire is £100 per day which isn't bad, but you need to be 27+.

You will personally pay approximately a £160 indemnity at BCA on top of any vehicle you buy under £500 so there's really no point in my opinion as you will be buying a piece of shit, stuck in by a trader because.... well because it's a piece of shit.
