dunno if any of you have seen that but can the e60? 5 series really dial emergancey services after a crash?!

My dads Cadilac will call if 911 if the airbag is deployed, they can open the car if he locks himself out etc

thier sat nav type services are way ahead of ours, but yes, it's got to be an expensive option!!

yes they have also got a sos button but its all only active it you pay for the bmw emergency assist.

BMW emergency assist is what youre on about. If your airbags are deployed, or your pre-tensioners are fired on your seatbelts, the emergency services are notified. They will then try to call your car, and if they get no reponse after 3 attempts they will send the emergency services out.

Maria is right of course

The best bit is they know exactly where your car is from the Sat Nav!

You can also use the system to book hotels/meal but thats not done by pressing the SOS button!



At the moment its a cost option but its not a fortune and the SOS will work regardless of wether you have signed up to the rest of the features or not.

Pretty cool I think!
