the show with Neil Pearson is called Between the lines,you can get all 3 series on DVD(play.com etc)...like a fine wine both these critically acclaimed shows have got better with age...its a Shame Spender never got an official release....although i still have the original recordings from when it first aired Ebay always have a few copes around,just don't pay too much for them,as they cost fook all to copy!!

 

Ive got all the spenders on dvd, he had a 2wd to start with, that got nicked in newcastle i think, then he had a 4x4, which they blew up in the last episode.

 

2wd was out of tax in december 98 and 4x4 hasnt been taxed since april 92 wonder where they are now???

 

a lot of the time they use false plates in films, i believe a lot of the cars on the proffesionals were false id, so non traceable iirc????

 

All the spender cars had genuine number plates,IIRC the 4wd from the second series had a private plate put on it some years later and the 2wd was exported...or it was the other way around. The K plater in series 3 has had the same owner since 1993ish and was being taxed until a couple of years ago IIRC...they never blew the actual car up in the series.

the professionals cars had fake i.d's, except when they forgot, and kept the real reg's on, which happend quite alot

i can sort you out a copy/s,i never put my BBC original recordings onto disc i was lazy and got some from a friend...they seem to have come from UK australia and are all complete and are pretty good in quality. If your not in a rush i can do them over the next week or so..let us know

ive got the full series too bought it on ebay Ł10 for the full series..and a full film episode havent watched that one yet

in the first episode,he says to spender heres your car its a cosworth

and spender says ITS A BEAST MAN

car jumps from a 2wd from one episode too a 4*4 the next one

there are some good clips in the series him giving it the BIG RIGHT FOOT

I did Ginge a set and i have promised one more person a set when i get a spare moment...after that any of you guys in the above posts that want a set..if you can nominate someone out of you who will copy the the discs for the rest of the people wanting copies,then i will send you a set as well...i can't say fairer than that...well i could,i could have said i'll do copies for you all but i won't!!

 

I'm led to believe the sticking point is in the third series,the first two are owned by the BBC and i'm sure they would love to release them on DVD. The problem lies in the 3rd series,Jimmy Nail's own production company made the thirds series and the feature lenght special and i did hear he won't allow them to be released..which is why UKGold/UK Drama only ever showed the first 2 series on thier channels....it really doesn't suprise me,there are countless reports of fans going up to say hello to Jimmy Nail and him telling them to "fuck off"...i guess he still thinks he's in character(OZ).

 

I bought that when it was originally released. One of my first RS cars along with the matchbox 3drs.

just out of interest, how many discs has everybody else got for the full lot, ive got every episode and the french connection ( or the movie as some call it ), and its 7 discs.

 

i sent ginge the whole lot on 11 or 12 discs i think,all depends what quality you record them on

 

oh and its called the"french collection" by the way!
