Default Here are the photos of that mk1 escort very dissapointed.??

Well here are the photos of the mk1 escort that the dealership have sent me via email, no it is not a mk1 escort RS2000 just classed as a normal escort on the logbook as indicated in RED, it is still classed as a 1298cc and the dealership have taken ownership of it since 01.03.2007 according to the logbook as you can see.??

So it has been for sale since then 8 months.!!

Been for sale for a very long time due to the way over priced value of £18k.

As you lot can imagine I am very well dissapointed indeed, it’s a shame as I did really like it. But at the price of £18k it was up for originally you would expect a near on Concourse shell etc for that and be an RS2000 Type 49 shell not a 1300 Super shell that is not even that good underneath looking at it..

As for the videos its been ragged around supermarket car parks to the extent that it put me off also.??

Like some of you have already said it is worth only around £8k-£10k max.!!!

I just cannot see where the £23k has been spent.??

Therefore my escos stays in my hands and i await for the right mk1 escort RS2000 with Cosworth engine and running gear etc.. to come along at the price of £16k-£18k or straight swap..

I have ford flowing around in my blood so will stick to that as the engine transplant should have been a ford crossworth engine in the beginning and not a Vauxhall hybrid thingy bob.

I would love to know how much they actualy gave for this car in the first place.?? they told me they gave the previous owner £15k on a p/x for a sports car they were selling..

Yeah right.!!!

Anyway take a look and see what you lot think as the photos close up are very dissapointing indeed.??

Its nice, but not that nice to warrant the price tag. Theres no way on earth I would of swopped my Esc Cos with oodles of creature comforts for a bone shaker ...even if it does have some classic car history.

Just my opinion so please don't take offence

i can't see the pics, but if you've got an escos then, unless you are minted or hae soemthng else to drive about it and keep the cos esc tucked away on a windy night, i'd stick with the escos, at least you know what's been done to it and where it's been

the garae seem to have had their pants pulled over this one if they've swapped it for £15k, so you also have to ask why they want another £k for selling it on to you

I replied to the other thread, but looking at these photos it looks like a £8-£10k car...It looks fairly solid, but looks like the whole floor has been replaced and for that money i would want it five linked, not on the original cart springs.

regards mark

Errrrr....Don't know what to say.

1. Look at the front wing - leading edge of the door.....Really Poor Fitting, or maybe only a pattern panel used (And not a good one at that).

2. Look at the bottom of door - sill gap......either the sill is a very poor fit, or it's full of pudding.

3. What's all that scoring on the underside. Almost looks like the UJ let go at some time and the prop was dancing around under the car.

4. For that kind of money, I'd have expected it to have alot better suspension components than it has......for that money I'd have wanted coil-overs on a full blown atlas axle.

I could go on and on, but somebody did put alot of work into this car ......but it's worth no more than 8k in my humble opinion. If the garage gave 15k for that.......then I'm taking my BMW M5 with 35k miles from new there tomorrow.....

That for £9500 and the orange one for £16k??? No brainer!

Sell the escort cosworth and look for either an RS2000 or a mexico IMO, or even a cossie converted MK1

As OSF thread, i would leave it alone. The props broke/come off at some point, and taken out the tunnel with it!

And considering its not a type 49 shell, i wouldnt bother.
