got a private bit of road i use its 0.8 of a mile and theres a bend at the start so cant gun in second or arse just kicks out and i can get 155 and stop and im 2 up. theres a bit more braking left aswell so could get 160 i think at a real push.
and before anyone asks ive checked my speedo against a tom tom sat nav at set speeds so i know whats what with the speedo reading.
just wondered if that was good or not so good for my saph ?
my car spec is in my sig.
thanks guys

A lot of the cars at TOTB that run 11's or maybe slightly slower, where only pulling 160mph at a standing mile....with braking after that.
Some maybe a bit higher....
So pulling similar speeds in 0.8mile, and stopped.....well, it is quite a lot.
Its a supercharged V8....

I doubt your car would see 180 though on the top speed trials, simply not enough power going on what others have needed to achieve that.
I've probably used that private road of yours too at some point

I'll have to let you know next time were all out as I'd like to see a cossy out with my jap follower mates

i know the car will see 7800 rpm in fifth which i think is 180 but dont know what distance i need to do it.
do you remember lee martins g reg white 2wd saph ? that was only stage 3 but was good for over 170
whereas mt last stage 3 saph would struugle to do 155 burners old one
and the old 3 door that would pull of the speedo and that was only running 26 or 28 psi.
youve have pm aswell mate
I "think" my gearing has shortened slighty with the new box with 192 being 8k in 5th on my tyres/wheels.
Car is back at AVA just now to see what 8k in 5th really is as we can test it on the rollers
Prep startinf for daddy thrash already
Scooby slayer, as Jonny says there have been alot of guys running T4 spec engines that think 180 odd is easy at one of the strips but its alot harder than it looks, hope you get to come give it a go tho

I still take it easy on the launches due to lack of grip.
Almost considering some ET Streets now....but maybe for next year. Im hoping to get out once more this year if I can get my engine probs sorted....then finally I can start to improve on last years times !!!!

be getting near the heels of the red victor me thinks
While checking air temps last nite I did 173 on gps in 0.8 of a mile, starting from 30 mph in 3rd gear but didnt stop.
prob could stop from that speed within 0.2 of a mile or less.
Data logging says 6905 rpm in 5th gear.
hope this helps scooby slayer

As a fairly accurate guide in a 2wd Saff
500bhp will see 180mph
600bhp 190mph
720bhp 200mph
840bhp 206mph
900bhp 210mph
1000bhp maybe 213/214mph
The gearing would have to be spot bollix to achieve these times. Its all very well to say you will pull the Limiter in 5th but is Power falling at that point if so after 170ish you hopes will disapear im afraid. Only 11 Cossies have ever pulled 180 in 1.5miles & hundreds have failed many claiming over 600bhp im afaid. CA Temps after about 30secs on the throttle claim most victims ask people like Porkie. Topspeed runs sound easy, they aint.
