Default Any C20 LET/|20 LET bods about?

Got a guy on a Audi forum talking about a C20LET converted Astra Coupe. He's piped up about the Z20LET and I suggested the older had been used due to being more available and cheaper to obtain. He has now gone into one about the engine being a lot less reliable etc.

I was always under the impression the C20LET motor was a corker, I know of people that have had Cav Turbo's and Calibra turbo's without a sniff of trouble.

Anybody supply any info to support or demolish his claim?

The C20LET is a very reliable engine, in fact I would go as far as to say more so than the Z'LET as no doubt that suffers from the usual ecotec problems with the hall sensor in the dizzy etc.

Also the C20LET bottom ends are stronger unless its a VXR Z'LET

Both great engines though with masses of potential

Tuning part a lot cheaper for C20LET. I should know, can't afford even a Stage 1 on my Z20LET ATM..
