At the Start in Hyde Park, London

I like the way this pic came out

Germany, I think

Poland

One of the other teams we convoyed with for a bit - just over the border into Ukraine

Cooking something on the side of the road somewhere - Ukraine

Bought some fruit. They only sell by the bucket load.

Kazakstan - the road to Actobe was one of the most enduring ones (300 miles in 2.5 days)

Camping in the desert

When you see mud - well, you just have to!

These guys were properly wasted - we convoyed with them for a while after sharing vodka and food. These guys do some serious drifting - we couldn't compete with their speed. Declined the offer to swap the bashed up Lada for the SJ - the next day we had to tow them for 70 miles to the next town

Found a really nice spot in Russia to have a break and catch up on food and get some of the sand off in the river.

Didn't think Russia would look anything like this - very dramatic scenery and great driving

And the final country - Mongolia

One of many stream crossings en-route. As long as it was not over waist height, we would go for it.

Kicking it in sheer desperation I think

Making our own tracks in the desert

Team Fido in the distance - the poor Micra had to put up with demanding conditions as we got more and more lost in the valleys of the Gobi desert - had to tow or push it out of various degress of stuck. The SJ got stuck twice - mainly for not having 4WD (rear prop died)

Some of the locals that helped us out (or rather, helped us to drink vodka). You really wouldn't beleive how helpful people are outside the UK. My colour is mainly sand by the way, not tan.

Furry cows. Probably the most daft looking animal I have come across.

After breaking another spring, boding it back together and driving for the whole day at a painful 15MPH we made it Ulaan Bataar! Woop!

The finish line at Daves place - the SJ looking a bit sorry for itself.

Various locals, police officers, border control as well as frieinds/family signed our car. Best has to be "Dont worry! Be happy! Russians Officers Borders"

This is really messed up - bodging to the extreme!

And there we are - team Rusty Rhinos finished number 28 out of 200.

Details on charities, donations so far, the trip etc etc can be found at www.rustyrhinos.com
