Default 4pot brakes for 16i

can anyone help?

I'm looking to fit big brakes willwoods or something, i know you need 5mm spacers so that the wheels fit, but could anyone help and let me know what sort of brakes are fitted to the blue 16i. I think it belongs to Tony (nutsrus) lovely looking motor.

Any help would be very greatful

Pete

I run standard RS Turbo calipers on the front, and standard Sierra calipers and discs on the back.

The whole servo system has been ditched and replaced with a home made bias pedal box, all plumbed in aeroquip split front to front, rear to rear with a tilton proportioning valve for the rears.

Pads are Mintex 1177/2, front discs are black diamonds and the brake fluid is Castrol SRF Racing. The whole set-up stands the car on its nose

Hope that helps & thanks for the comments - yours looks just on track too

Tony

Dosn't cost that much really.

My rear set-up ...
Calipers Ł15 (pair) from scrapyard, brackets less than Ł40, pads and discs less than Ł30 and h/b cable about Ł20

My Pads (in the front) at retail price cost more than that

Yeah its the Mk5 one

No idea if they make any difference as I have never driven it with drums on.

Nearly all of the braking is on the front - with just a touch on the back anyway. It does make handbrake turns a lot easier though
