thats another thing mate lost my bloody gate pass (turnstyle entry) had to borrow a spare of my gaffa so today mathew im going to be nigel so couldve reported it and got my foreman sacked or take the pain i took the pain

I was controlling the work that some steeplejacks were doing on our flarestack which is about 300ft high. they had been working at a height of about 70ft when their boss came down and said there was a problem with the steel floor at that level and I should take a look, I climbed up there with him, and he showed me some corrosion on the floor, it didn't look to bad ,he then said"it's only over there here is fine" at that he dropped the hammer he was holding at our feet, it went straight through the floor!!!!!
we both grabbed the handrail and screamed "foook get the fook down"!!!!

got back to my office looking white as a sheet!

its surprising how they deteriorate that bad.

lots of pipework,gantries etc...like that in Stanlow,most of it has been shutdown anyway,but its still there ready to be demolished.

i have loads of near misses, all throu bosses skimping on quality materials

not had anything major so far, eaten alive by red ants lots of cut hands no major blood loss...........yet

funnily enough i was putting floorboards down today, jumped up to answer phone, slipped and landed on my little finger, its same size as my thumb now. Though id broke the fooker Fooking killing now though!

Worst ive had jumping up a scaffold not seeing the handrail and smacked my head on a scaff clip....blood pouring down my head and face...bad. Washed it and carried on though
