Just a quick question, when I asked about the L8 the other say simon said about pins 13 and 14 being the octane wires.

I just wondered, is that still the same on an S8, and is it programmable what amount they take off, as I dont recall seeing it in the S8 software when I had mine.

 

They are used for injectors 6 and 7 on the S8, not sure if they work normally if you dont run 8 injectors.

 

Ah, forgot it ran 8 injectors.

Yes I am here, just got back from a very heavy corporate weekend dinner do. !

Sorry, the S8 doesnt support octane adjust in the same way.

However, you can load multiple maps into it (upto 8) and use inputs
to select them as you need.
When I say maps I mean complete configurations so you could load the
same file twice and just adjust the global ignition adjustment on one file,
That would then emulate what you need.
Very easy to set up

Porkie mentioned putting some Gas on his at some point, so was just checking the S8 can handle some retard if its needed

When you say "use inputs to select them as you need" will it do it on the fly?

Ie when the gas comes on it switches map?

 

Yes mate, maps change instantly (less than 3 milliseconds).
