Default APT Evo makes 636bhp......Vid/Graphs

For those that don't visit the Resto section, I thought I'd share Gary's good news with you all.

After an eventful few months with the Evo and several changes in spec, today, on a quick map and at only 1.8 bar of boost, Gary's Evo made 636.5bhp, 514.3bhp at the wheels.

To put it in perspective, this puts the car just about into the Top Ten of those listed on the MLR (which include Norris' Evo etc), but everything above it is running over 2.0 bar of boost and/or race fuel. We are still on pump fuel.

Estimated Flywheel Power vs Flywheel Torque.....

Power @ Wheels vs Tractive Effort (raw Torque)

Power @ Wheels vs Boost

I have a video of it which I am trying to upload, will post it when I have sorted it.

No, I forgot about that. It has a CNC ported head with over-sized valves, but we didn't really see a significant gain from that (We Dyno'd it before and after). Maybe that would be more beneficial with the GT42 turbo (would probably do 650-700ATW with that).

However, it is still amazing to drive and very responsive, so it's likely to stay as it is.

Running it on Race fuel is almost a certainty though, just to see what it will do.

Dan from Owen's was telling me that they very rarely touch the heads now until going well past 600bhp.

Amazing engines that you can get so much power from them with basically just a very straightforward bottom end rebuild and a remap on a bigger turbo essentially.
(apologies if that makes it sounds like im playing down your achievements, im not, the devil is in the detail of exactly which turbo to go for etc)

Christian - awesome matey - awesome!

Tell me - if I turned up with an Evo 6 RS - how much roughly would it cost to spec up the engine to the same level. Would I just give u Ł10k or something - or are we talking far more or less. (including manifolds intercooler ecu etc)?

Cheers
